Occasional National Volunteer Program
This program is open to all Costa Ricans over 18 years who are available for a minimum of 5 days. Volunteers work in protected wildlife areas and perform tasks associated with tourist information, construction and maintenance of installations and the support of protection duties.
Permanant Volunteer Program
This program is composed of four units: Environmental Education (link) , Control and Protection (link), Research and Projection (link) and the Forest Fire Brigade (link). Each of these specialized units responds to the needs of the programs in protected areas and in areas of conservation. It is the program that most represents the organization, for its constant, organized and responsible labor realized inside protected areas.
Each of these units provides training, lectures and workshops to its members, relating to the different areas of work, in order to efficiently perform duties in protected areas and to be a source of support for National Park officials.
